My goal is simple. I want therapists to spend less time fighting paperwork and more time caring for their clients. I want practice owners to have clearer systems, steadier revenue, and more peace in their day-to-day work.

Atlas is built for mental health professionals who are tired of feeling buried by the business side of care.

Atlas Billing and Consulting was built from lived experience.

My name is John, and Atlas Billing and Consulting grew out of both my professional background and my personal life.

I am a disabled Navy Veteran with a Master’s degree in Internet Security and nearly 20 years of federal service with the Department of Education. After being terminated just 115 days before retirement, I found myself facing an unexpected and difficult professional transition.

At the same time, I had already spent years watching my wife build and grow her psychotherapy practice. I saw how much time and energy it took to manage the business side of private practice while still showing up fully for clients. Billing, credentialing, insurance denials, claims follow-up, data entry, paperwork, scheduling systems, and the daily administrative chaos of practice ownership can quickly become overwhelming.

I also saw how frustrating it was to fight insurance companies for payment that had already been earned. CareFirst, I am looking at you.

What started as helping behind the scenes became something more. I realized that many therapists and mental health practice owners are carrying too much of this administrative weight alone.

Atlas Billing and Consulting was created to help carry that weight.

My background taught me how to work inside complicated systems, solve problems, track details, protect information, and stay persistent when the process becomes frustrating. Those skills translate directly into the work I do now: helping psychotherapy practices with billing, credentialing, claims follow-up, denial management, and practice consulting.
